Johnny Nix was called into the ministry when he was 10 years old. Since the age of 10, he has conducted 150 or more meetings per year. He has pastored four churches in Georgia and Tennessee before coming to Pickett's Mill. Most recently, he pastored Wartburg First Baptist Church where they saw incredible growth. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. He is currently finishing a Master's at the Crown College of the Bible and is pursuing his Ph.D in Theology with a concentration in communications . He and his wife Hannah were High School sweethearts, they have been married for over 20 years. Johnny and Hannah have three beautiful daughters: Faith, Hope, and Joy! Pastor Johnny loves Georgia Football, the Atlanta Braves, and the outdoors. His favorite passage of Scripture is Proverbs 3:5,6.
Alexander Sharpe is the new Student Pastor at Pickett’s Mill Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Columbia, S.C. and was saved in elementary school and called to preach in his high school years. He attended the University of South Carolina before moving to California to attend West Coast Baptist College, where he spent four years obtaining his bachelor degree of religious education in pastoral theology. Alexander loves to preach, and has a heart to see this generation of young adults, teens and children follow after the Lord. He oversees the Unified Student Ministry at Pickett’s Mill Baptist Church and faithfully serves alongside his sweet wife Grace. His life’s verse is Psalm 40:8, which reads, “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, the law is within my heart.”
Ben has been the music director at PMBC for 11½ years. He is married to Gradyne Willingham Ferguson and they recently celebrated their 45th anniversary. They have two children, Adam, who lives in St. Petersburg, Fl. and Cassie Martin who resides in Boston. Ben attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama where he received a B.S. in Music Ed. and East Carolina University in North Carolina where he earned a Masters in Music Performance and Music Ed. He belongs to Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity and PI Kappa Lambda Honorary Society. He received Christ as his personal Savior at a summer revival in 1960 at Corner Baptist Church in Cobb County and has served as music director at various churches in Georgia and North Carolina. He believes that if a ministry for the Lord is worthy of our service, it is also worthy of our best effort and effective use of our God-given talent.
Jamie came to Pickett’s Mill in February 2001. She is married to Danny and they have 3 children: Brittany (and Anthony) Millsap, Spencer (and Heather) Reynolds, and Jared (and Krista) Reynolds. Danny and Jamie are “Lolli and Pop” to grandson Kamden and have two more grandchildren on the way. Jamie came to know Christ at age 6 in her home state of Tennessee where she grew up as a pastor’s daughter. She moved to Georgia while in college and later made it her home. Jamie attended Union University, Tift College and Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She loves decorating, time with family, shopping, TN football, autumn in the mountains and hanging out with the kids of PMBC!
Donna has been Administration Secretary since 2006. She is married to Steve and they have one daughter Lauren who is married to David Hornback. Donna graduated from George C. Wallace State Community College with an Associate in Science degree. She has been working in the ministry since 1991. Donna is a member of Westridge Church where she serves in the Kiosk and Student Ministries. Donna’s hobbies are reading, crocheting, sewing, and watching sports, particularly the Alabama Crimson Tide.
